Norwood-Norfolk Central School names students of the month

Teacher Sean Ellison; Peter Jarvis; Alayna Reed; and Robin Fetter, high school principal. In front are Alex McConnell and Lily Parmeter.

Alex McConnell, Lily Parmeter, Alayna Reed and Peter Jarvis were recently selected as students of the month for January at Norwood-Norfolk Central School.

McConnell is the freshman student of the month.

He is the son of Robert and Heather McConnell of Norwood.

Alex is interested in engineering and enjoys math and science. He participates in IMPETUS and throws shot put for indoor track.

He hopes to do well in school, attend college, and to “have a bright future in the engineering field,” according to a press release from the school.

Parmeter is the sophomore student of the month.

She is the daughter of Laurie Parmeter of Norfolk.

She enjoys camping, four wheeling and spending time with friends and family. She runs cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.

She is also a member of the Spanish club.

Her future plan is to go to college and become a nurse.

Reed is the junior student of the month.

She is the daughter of Melynda and Andrew Reed of Norwood.

She enjoys playing the guitar and spending time with family. She is a member of Key Club, band and National Honor Society.

She plans to go to college and get her doctorate degree in physical therapy.

Jarvis is the senior student of the month.

He is the son of Paul Jarvis of Norwood and Sandra Prosper of Norfolk.

He enjoys sports, staying active and hanging out with friends. He plays varsity baseball, runs indoor track and plays football.

He is a member of the National Honor Society, Robotics and Varsity Club.

Upon completion of high school he plans to attend either RIT to study imaging dcience or Binghamton University to study mechanical engineering.

Students are selected as student of the month for their “academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community,” according to the press release.

Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and the Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood donated gift cards for the students.

The Teacher’s Association presented the senior student of the month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
