NORWOOD – The Norwood Kiwanis recently recognized two individuals for outstanding success in athletics at Norwood-Norfolk Central School.
Austin Ward was named the 2018 Kiwanis Athlete of the Year in soccer, basketball, and golf. Austin has been a three sport athlete throughout his career at NNCS. He has served as captain and team leader and played a vital role in developing the teams and in supporting and molding younger players into solid teammates.
The club also recognized former NNCS cross country and track and field standout, Jon Eng, as the 2009 Kiwanis Athlete of the Year.
Jon led his teammates to a 14 win, 0 loss record in 2009 in cross country and track and field.
He was also selected Section 10 MVP in both and medaled in both at state championships; four times in cross country and twice in track and field.
The Kiwanis congratulated both for their achievements and thanked them for their contributions to the athletic programs at Norwood-Norfolk Central School.
