Nearly 200 SUNY Oneonta students, including Sarah Newtown of DePeyster and Britney Wells of Massena, recently presented original research and creative projects at the college's 2016 Student Research and Creative Activity Day.
Newtown worked with Kiyoko Yokota of the biology department on a project titled "Survey of Brant Lake's Zooplankton Assemblage and Early Detection of AIS."
Wells worked with Matthew Albright of the Biological Field Station on a project titled "Monitoring the Otsego Lake Watershed."
Created to recognize and promote undergraduate scholarship and creative activity, Student Research & Creative Activity Day has become “the premier on-campus event for scholarly student exhibition,” according to a press release.
A total of 180 students, supported by 66 faculty sponsors, participated in this year's event, which featured presentations on a wide variety of topics across academic disciplines.
