LaFay appointed assistant professor, director of clinical education at Clarkson

POTSDAM – Vicki LaFay has been appointed clinical assistant professor of physical therapy and director of clinical education at Clarkson University.

A Norwood native, LaFay is a high school graduate of Norwood Norfolk Central School and the daughter of Francis and Susan Cota of Norwood.

LaFay received her bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from Ithaca College, performed graduate coursework in the master of health administration curriculum from the University of Phoenix and received her clinical doctorate of physical therapy (DPT) degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University.

LaFay's interests include helping educate future physical therapists at Clarkson and furthering the American Physical Therapy Association's (APTA) direction and vision for physical therapy.

LaFay has been a New York State licensed physical therapist for 18 years. She was director of rehabilitation services at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, worked in the Work-Fit Division of Healthtrax International Inc. at Massena General Motors Powertrain, and has worked for Franklin County Public Health in Malone. She was also a semester-two tutor for Clarkson in 2007 and 2008.

LaFay has been an APTA credentialed clinical instructor since 2001. She was named the Ken Kopke Award Winner for Achievement in 2001 and winner of the 2000 "Ironman of the Year" Award for Outstanding Performance in 2000, both from the Work-Fit Division of Healthtrax International Inc.
