OGDENSBURG – Sloane Ryan, an eighth grader at Ogdensburg Free Academy, was chosen as the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce student of the month for October.
“Sloane is an exceptional grade eight student. She is recognized for her positive attitude, which is demonstrated in everything she does. Her teachers report that Sloane is always prepared for class and is eager to learn, by going beyond the lesson at hand to find out more from genuine curiosity. She is a quality-minded student, often seeking more challenging situations and obstacles to better herself. She is dedicated to her studies, dependable, imaginative and always willing to share questions or thoughts with the class,” said Pamela Luckie, OFA principal.
Ryan is also involved in a variety of activities, including OFA Modified Swim and Lacrosse teams, OFA band and chorus, Julie’s Dance, OFA web leader, Odyssey of the Mind, Builder’s Club and the OFA Drama Club, according to a press release from the chamber.
Ryan received a certificate from OFA, a “Chamber Dollars” check sponsored by Ed-Med Federal Credit Union, and a plaque from the Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce.
