GOUVERNEUR -- Staff Sergeant Leon Wells of Gouverneur retired from the New York Army National Guard last month after some 22 years of military service.
He had been assigned to the Brigade Signal Company C, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion.
Wells first entered the military in May 1996.
