GOUVERNEUR -- Gouverneur Hospital ultrasonographer Maxine Hill has received certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) to perform abdominal ultrasound tests.
To receive her certification, Hill passed exams on sonography techniques, principals and instruments. ARDMS certification is the global standard in the field, a news release from Gouverneur Hospital said.
A native of Hammond, Hill attended Hammond Central School before completing her studies at the Institute of Ultrasound Diagnostics in Spanish Fort, Ala. She is undergoing cross-training in cardiac sonography with the cardiology services department at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
