LATHAM -- The New York Army National Guard recently promoted two North Country residents in recognition of their ability to handle additional responsibility and leadership.
• Leon Wells, Gouverneur, serves with the Company C (Signal), 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
• Joel Chambers, Harrisville, serves with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 427th Brigade Support Battalion and was promoted to the rank of Specialist.
Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability and development potential.
