Gilmour joins Remington museum staff as education specialist

OGDENSBURG – The Frederic Remington Art Museum has announced that Lauren Gilmour has joined its professional staff as Museum Education Specialist.

The Museum Education Specialist coordinates programming at Kid's Place, the children's museum, and docent training and educational programming for adults.

Gilmour holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from SUNY Potsdam and is certified in New York State to teach art for levels kindergarten through grade 12.

"We're delighted to have Lauren on board" said museum executive director Ed LaVarnway. "She brings new energy and ideas and has already demonstrated strong communication skills with varied audiences. We're looking forward to her launching new art classes and other programming that will extend our offerings both to local and online audiences."

The Frederic Remington Art Museum is located at 303 Washington St.

The Museum is dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, preserving and interpreting the art and archives of Frederic Remington, and contains an unmatched collection of his works.

The Museum is open October 16 - May 14, Wednesday -Saturday, 11 am to 5 pm and Sunday, 1 to 5 pm and May 15 - October 15, Monday -Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, 1 to 5 pm.
