SUNY Oswego recently provided a deans' scholarship to Darian R. Fenton of Edwards in recognition of “past academic achievement and potential for success,” according to a press release from the college.

Fenton reserved a place in the incoming class for the fall 2016 semester, majoring in biology.

She last studied at Edwards-Knox Central School and is scheduled to begin classes Aug. 29 at Oswego.

The scholarship is $6,000 over four years.

The award is part of about $5 million in merit scholarship money offered at SUNY Oswego.

A 155-year-old comprehensive college in the State University of New York system, Oswego enrolls about 8,000 students.
