CANTON -- Sherry Stone, Community Bank vice president and branch services administrator, has been nominated to the New York State Senate’s “Women of Distinction” program.
Established in 1998, the program honors women’s history in the Empire State by recognizing outstanding leaders and everyday citizens from the present who are making a difference in their local communities. Each year’s nominees include individuals who possess exceptional qualities of leadership, compassion and diligence.
Stone has been actively involved in the Canton community for more than 20 years. She has served on numerous boards and led a variety of fundraisers, including the Michael Camp Fund, the St. Lawrence Skating Club and the Canton Chamber of Commerce.
She now serves with the Canton Pee Wee Association and the Community Bank Hospice Golf Tournament committee, and volunteers with Canton Winterfest and the St. Lawrence County Dairy Princess Parade.
“Sherry has done so much for the Canton community over the years and is tremendously deserving of this honor,” said Hal Wentworth, senior vice president for retail banking. “She is a true asset to our community. We are extremely proud that she has been recognized by the community for her achievements.”
