Clarkson University has announced the appointment of several assistant professor to the faculty.

Elisabeth Arti Wulandari has been appointed assistant professor of humanities.Wulandari focuses her research on understanding different cultures through literature, with particular emphasis on theater, imagination, activism, and social justice

Prashant Athavale has been appointed assistant professor of mathematics. His research focuses on numerical analysis, calculus of variations, partial differential equations, image processing, biomedical imaging, statistics, and machine learning. In 2014, he applied for an international patent for “Fast Image Quality Enhancement by Weighted Total Variation Flow.”

Elizabeth Stein has been appointed assistant professor of political science. Stein concentrates  on four main areas,  comparative political economy, comparative political communication, contentious politics, and Latin American politics. She co-authored the article, “Trump’s war on the news media is serious. Just look at Latin America,” which was published by The Washington Post on February 16, 2017.

Ginger Hunter has been appointed assistant professor of biology. Her research concentrates on how local cell-cell interactions drive large-scale tissue patterning during development. She recently completed post-doctoral research at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in Maryland, as well as at the Laboratory of Molecular and Cell Biology and Institute for the Physics of Living Systems at University College London in the United Kingdom.
