CANTON -- A story written by Mark Slouka, resident of Canton, was published in the “Spring 2012” issue of Ploughshares.

Ploughshares is based at Emerson College in Boston. Since it’s founding in 1971, each issue is guest-edited by a prominent author. Mark Slouka’s story "Dog" was published in an issue guest-edited by Nick Flynn, best-known for his memoir Another Bullshit Night in Suck City, W. W. Norton, which was recently made into a major film.

Mark Slouka currently teaches in the English department of St. Lawrence University. His books, which have been translated into sixteen languages, include a collection of stories, Lost Lake (Knopf); the novels God’s Fool (Knopf) and The Visible World (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt); and Essays from the Nick of Time (Graywolf). He lives with his family in Canton.

The issue that Slouka’s story is published in is available in print ($14) <https://www.pshares.org/subscriptions/Issues.cfm>
