POTSDAM -- Canton-Potsdam Hospital ophthalmologist Kris VanWagner has been awarded American Board of Ophthalmology certification, from of the nation’s pioneering medical specialty certifying boards.
Certification, which must be renewed every 10 years, requires rigorous study, and is considered to be a mark of excellence in one’s specialty.
VanWagner received his medical training at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.V., and completed his residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University’s Center for Vision Care.
He provides comprehensive medical/surgical eye care and eye examinations to patients over the age of eight years, including specialty areas of macular degeneration, cataracts, conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, detached and torn retina, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, floaters and flashers, infections, lazy eye, pink eye, presbyopia, refractive errors, strabismus, and subconjunctival hemorrhage.
