OGDENSBURG -- Barbara Barr and her late husband Bob were given the Honorary Award by the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary at the organization’s spring luncheon.
Barr not only volunteers for our CHMC Auxiliary but also spends her time with Ogdensburg Command Performance supporting their shows and ushering for Youth Theatre,” said CHMC Auxiliary Liaison Ramona Kennedy. She has also been known to put time in at Blue Heron Realty for her friend Jennifer Stevenson. In her spare time, she loves to play golf and has been on several leagues throughout the years. You might find her on her Kindle reading in between the vendor sales, said Kennedy.
Barr joined the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary on April 13, 2000. In 2002 she was Vice President of Shop Operations for a year, and has managed several blood drives a year.
Barr and her husband Bob, who passed away on Aug. 3, 2017, were married on Aug. 1, 1959 in Prescott, Ontario and had three children, Candace Luckie of Charlotte, N.C., Tracey Durand of Ogdensburg, and Troy of Ogdensburg. She has seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
