Through DEC’s Cooperative Young Pheasant Release Program, 40 young ring-necked pheasants now call the Wilson Hill Wildlife Management Area home. Massena outdoorsman Marshall Burt had his application to participate in the program approved by the Region 6 Bureau of Wildlife Staff in Watertown. The manager of the Wildlife area, Mike Morgan, was instrumental in determining the site at the preserve and site preparation for the temporary release pen. Marshall’s brother, Bill Burt, assisted building the temporary pen and assembly at the site.
