PARISHVILLE -- Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering a new field workshop to help woodland owners learn basic principles of small-scale woodlot harvesting and management.
The workshop emphasizes safety, silviculture, and technique and will be offered Sunday, Sept. 26 at the Haney Forest, Picketville Road, from 1 – 4 p.m. Participants will learn how to inspect equipment, utilize safe practices, understand basic silvicultural principles and make appropriate tree selections for ownership objectives.
Participants should dress for the weather and be prepared for walking on moderately rough ground and are encouraged to bring a hard hat, clipboard, and pencil.
