MORRISTOWN – Don Woodcock and Gretchen Koehler will present a program of great North Country fiddling Monday, July 11 at 7 p.m. in the Morristown Gateway Museum. There is no admission charge. Donations will be accepted.

Woodcock holds the title of Grand Champion fiddler of New York State, having won the State Championship contest three times.

He was inducted into the North American Fiddlers’ Hall of Fame in Osceola in 1987.

Woodcock lives in Kendrew Corners and began playing the fiddle at 14.

He combines his fiddle music with stories about growing up and playing music in the North Country.

Gretchen Koehler is the 2008 Northeast Champion fiddler.

From Massachusetts, she took part in fiddling contests from an early age.

As her family traveled, Koehler learned about various fiddle styles -- old time, contra dance, Celtic, and Quebecois.
