CANTON – Find out more about the life of secret female soldiers at the next Civil War Roundtable on Sunday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m., when Martha Maine speaks on "Women Soldiers in the Civil War" at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association at the Silas Wright House, 3 East Main St. Maine, who is a Civil War reenactor, will be dressed as a Union soldier.
This Civil War Roundtable is part of the SLCHA's Commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, which began in 1861. January also marks the 15th anniversary of the formation of the North Country Civil War Roundtable.
This milestone will be celebrated on Jan. 30 with a cake and complimentary copies of Civil War News to the first 40 visitors.
