CLIFTON: Communities of Fine, Oswegatchie, Star Lake, Wanakena and Cranberry Lake and the town of Clifton hosting annual Adirondack WhiteOut Weekend Festival from Feb. 15-17; music, food, snowshoeing, bonfires, a snow labyrinth, Bigfoot pancakes, puppet theater, magic show and contra dance, along with many other scheduled family activities; 7-11 a.m., meet Bigfoot at the Bigfoot Pancake Challenge at U-B’s Mercantile/Bakery, Oswegatchie, local maple syrup producer will be on-site making maple snow and taffy; 8 a.m., pancake breakfast special at Coffee Fever, Star Lake, $10 adults, $4 kids; 10 a.m.-8 p.m.,Wanakena Historical Association photography show, snow labyrinth, snow croquet, Otto’s Abode, Wanakena; 10 a.m.-noon, dog sled rides for kids, The Haven, Star Lake, pay as you may, kids 12 and under; 10 a.m.-1 p.m. curling at Clifton-Fine Arena, Star Lake, free, drawing for 1 of 2 $50 gift cards from Tripp Fuels; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. craft fair at Clifton-Fine Central School, Star Lake; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. art show and sale by Paula Towne, an accomplished local artist from Gouverneur; she will be sketching portraits ($15/ea), learn to make Finnish stars and cinnamon air fresheners with Renee Waters, learn to make large 3D snowflakes with Sue Novak, Western Adirondack Modelers Railroad Club train running, wooden train up for children to enjoy; 11 a.m. Coffee Fever frying pan toss Coffee Fever, Star Lake, $5 registration; noon-2 p.m. Jr. Firefighter Course with appearance by Smokey Bear at SLFD, Star Lake, free; noon-5 p.m. SUNY ESF Ranger School, Ball Field, Wanakena, (behind college building, near student parking lot), Winter Yard Games, open to all, snow volleyball, can jam, laddershoes and pick-up street hockey, snowman/igloo making challenge; bonfire and hot drinks; noon and 3 p.m. movie double feature in the SUNY ESF Ranger School Main Classroom, Floor 2 in Wanakena; 4-7 p.m. sunset snowshoe adventure through the Arboretum, SUNY ESF Ranger School, Wanakena; 1-4 p.m. tasting with Heron Hill Winery and Black Button Distilling at Adirondack Liquors, U-B’s Mercantile in Oswegatchie; 1-4 p.m. Magic Trunk Show Experience, all ages fun, doors open at 1 p.m. for a pre-show party with face painting, kids puppet theatre, raffles, including a Family Pack Admission to The Wild Center, souvenirs and concessions; 2 p.m. free, all ages performance by professional ventriloquist, Slyvia Fletcher with her hilarious Ventastic show; 3 p.m. puppet making workshop with Fletcher, limited spots (30) available; sign up prior to show; 4 p.m. Canton Goldenaires performance at Western Adirondack Presbyterian Church, Star Lake, all ages show, free, donations accepted; chicken and biscuit dinner, following Goldenaires performance, $10 adults, $6 kids 12 and under, free for kids 5 and under; 5-7 p.m. glow skate at Clifton-Fine Arena, Star Lake, free, BYO skates, free glow bracelets; 6:30-9 p.m. Clifton-Fine Lions Club presents Full Moon Contra Dance featuring local musicians Jamie Savage, Rick Kovacs, Riczi Kovacs and caller Angie Oliver at Cranberry Lake Fire Hall, Route 3, Cranberry Lake, free, donations kindly accepted, beginners welcome, drawing to win a night and casino credit at Akwesasne Mohawk Casino; all day access to local snowmobile, x-country ski and snowshoe trails: check trail conditions and closures and utilize safe winter practices; borrow snowshoes from Clifton Community Library with your library card.¬¬

Valentine’s Day Party

OGDENSBURG: Valentine’s Day Party, 8 p.m.-midnight, Ogdensburg Elks Lodge 772, 322 Caroline St.; music, karaoke by Northern Lights DJ Service; raffles, snacks, cash bar, all welcome; $10 couple, $5 per person.

Food Distribution

MASSENA: Food Distribution, 9-10:30 a.m., St. Vincent de Paul, 128 Main St.; for St. Lawrence County residents only; will close earlier if items are depleted.

Canton Winterfest 2019

Scrapbooking adventure

CANTON: Scrapbooking Adventure, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, at their hall on Miner Street, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Canton Winterfest 2019 event; cost is $15, includes lunch, pre-registration is required; learn the art of scrapbooking and preserving memories in photo safe albums; event is for both beginners and advanced scrapbookers; bring photos and memorabilia as well as any other materials you wish to use; products will be available for purchase as well; consultant will be on hand to motivate and assist attendees; RSVP or for more information, contact Sherry Stone at 315-379-0419.

Wounded Warrior pool

CANTON: Wounded Warrior Pool Tournament, at and sponsored by the Edward C. Seymour Post 1231, starts at noon, registration at 11 a.m.; Canton Winterfest 2019 event; fee of $20, proceeds will support the Mountain Wounded Warrior Sled Hockey Team, three cash prizes and trophies.
