COLTON: Annual Colton Winterfest begins, “Rockin’ in the Great South Woods; silent auctions, quilt show, remembrance trees, open skating; https://www.townofcolton.com/winterfest.html; 10-11 a.m. story hour at the library, 84 Main St.; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. annual quilt show at the library, St. Patrick’s Church parish center and Catamount Lodge; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. recreational snowshoeing and cross-country skiing at Catamount Lodge & Forest, skiing at Catamount Mountain with ADK Mountain Club, three- to four-mile roundtrip, 330 foot elevation gain, level 2, slow pace; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. vintage snowmobile show at Mahogany Ridge Bar & Grill, 3927 State Highway 56, $5 snowmobile entry fee, prizes, games, and snowmobile history; 1-4 p.m. wine tasting at Higley Hooch, 3924 State Highway 56; 7-8:30 p.m. classic rock music with Man Fights Grizzly Band at CPCS, $5 entrance fee; 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. live music by Atom Ghost at Raquette River Pub, 102 Main St.

CANTON: Opening reception for photographer Carmen Gendebien’s exhibit "Seeing Red: A Love Affair with Family, Life on the Farm, and the Big Sky," TAUNY Center, 53 Main St., 1-3 p.m., photos in all seasons, moods of the family farm’s red barn in Lisbon; light refreshments served.
