CANTON: Canton Free Library is offering free naloxone training to members of the community in conjunction with Susan Ferguson of the St. Lawrence County Addiction Treatment Center. It will be at 6 p.m. Naloxone, which is sometimes marketed under the name brand Narcan, is an emergency treatment for use that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, while waiting for emergency services to arrive. It works on drugs such as heroin, fentanyl, hydrocodone, oxycodone and morphine. More information about Narcan can be found at https://www.narcan.com/. The training will be held at the Canton Free Library, 8 Park Street Canton, NY 13617 in the Paige Room. Registration is requested: call Jennifer at 315-386-3712 ext 127 or jhenry@ncls.org .
