Freedom School race

AKWESASNE: Akwesasne Freedom School’s Survival Race, Annual Dinner And Quilt Auction Fundraiser, 31 Indian Village Road in Raquette Point; 11 a.m. opening speech; Little River Mohawks perform at noon; 1 p.m. quilt auction; $15 steak dinner with two sides, a dessert and drink served; also quilters bingo, storytelling, children activities, big-ticket Mohawk Auction and vendors; 518-358-2073.

Owls, raptors

Summer social

Car wash

POTSDAM: West Potsdam Ladies Auxiliary car wash, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., West Potsdam Fire Station, 801 County Route 34; $5 donation, proceeds to benefit the West Potsdam Ladies Auxiliary.

Bats talk

Lisbon Class Reunion

LISBON: Lisbon Classes of 1945-1969 reunion, Lisbon Central School, 2-7 p.m., pictures, tours and music by Steelin’ Country; meal will be served at 5:30 p.m.; 315-713-4898.

Colton UMC picnic

COLTON: United Methodist Church old fashioned picnic; 11 Church St.; outdoor worship service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brooke Newell, guitar accompaniment by Kerry Newell; picnic follows with food and drinks. There will be sack races, tug-of-war, a scavenger hunt, duck pond, wet sponge races and a water balloon toss. Dawn Atkinson will play music and Sarah Russell will paint faces. New this year will be a penny pitching booth and a corn hole tournament. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.
