Disotell jamboree

OGDENSBURG: Michelle Disotell Jamboree, 1 p.m., Ghize’s Family Restaurant, 720 Main St.; diagnosed with multiple myeloma, cancer of the blood; single mother and sole caregiver for young daughter; money raised will help offset medical expenses; jamboree to feature music by Shawn Stoddard and BackWater Blues Band, 50/50s, karaoke, raffles.

Sweetheart Soiree

OGDENSBURG: Sweetheart Soiree 7-11 p.m. at Ogdensburg Public Library, 312 Washington St; 2nd floor ballroom; bring sweetheart or come solo for evening of romance and fun; music, dancing, dessert buffet, raffle drawings, photo booth, silent auction, cash bar. $20 per person or $15 for “Friends of Library” members. Moulin Rouge

MASSENA: “Moulin Rouge” at Massena Public Library screening room; 1 p.m. Free movie, popcorn, and beverage. This 2001 musical romantic comedy. It tells the story of a young English poet/writer, Christian (Ewan McGregor), who falls in love with the star of the Moulin Rouge, cabaret actress and courtesan Satine (Nicole Kidman). TAUNY knits

CANTON: Tauny Knits! Garment Competition, display of garments knitted by North Country knitters at the TAUNY Center, Main Street; prize winners in several categories; light refreshments will be served; Canton Winterfest 2019 event.

Winterfest storytime

Little River Winterfest

CANTON: Little River's 17th Annual Winterfest, held at Little River Community School, 1227 County Route 25, 1-4 p.m., free fun for the whole family with outdoor activities such as snow castles, sledding, petting the miniature donkeys, indoor craft projects, tarot readings, face painting and much more; live music featured; hot cider and cookies; Canton Winterfest 2019.

Art opening

OGDENSBURG: Friends of the Ogdensburg Public Library invites the public to its first annual Sweetheart Soiree, 7-11 p.m., Ogdensburg Public Library, second floor in the ballroom; music, dancing, dessert buffet, raffle drawings, photo booth, silent auction, cash bar; tickets, $20 per person or $15 per person for “Friends” members, are available at the Ogdensburg Public Library or from any “friend” of the library; ticket-holders can show their ticket at The Blind Pig Bistro for a special meal at a special price; event is sponsored by the Friends of the Ogdensburg Public Library; proceeds to benefit the library.
