POTSDAM -- Violinist Linda Nagy Johnston will perform an alumni recital at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 in Snell Music Theatre.
The evening's program includes Ludwig van Beethoven's "Sonata #5 in F-Major," "Spring" for violin and piano, Dvorak's "Romance in F-Minor Op. 11," Stravinsky's "Suite Italienne" and Camille Saint Saens' "Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso."
The recital will also feature a world premiere of Paul Siskind's "Souvenirs Éphémères" (Fleeting Memories) for solo violin.
Johnston is a 1988 graduate of The Crane School of Music, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree, summa cum laude, in violin performance.
Johnston is currently principal second violinist of the Akron Symphony Orchestra, and also performs with the Canton Symphony Orchestra, where she has been a member of the Canton Symphony String Quartet.
This concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.
