United Helpers’ Oktoberfest Costumed Prediction Run/Walk Sunday in Canton

Posted

United Helpers Employees Rebecca Reynolds, Colleen Aldridge and Terry Micelli participated in last year’s event.

CANTON -- United Helpers’ Oktoberfest Costumed Prediction Run/Walk is set for Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Remington Community Trail, Partridge Run Golf Course.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with walkers starting at 9:30 and runners at 10.

People will be expected to leave their watches, GPS devices, and other monitoring technologies behind, because they will predict their time to complete the course and see how close they come. The actual distance of the race will not be revealed until registration. Prizes will be given to those closest to predicting correctly among the top three males and top three females.

Since costumes are a large part of this day, participants are encouraged to come dressed in their silliest, spookiest or cutest attire.

Refreshments will be provided before and after the race, as well as goody bags for the children and biscuits for those who bring dogs. Those who pre-register by Oct. 10 are guaranteed a long sleeved t-shirt. Cost is $15 per person. Children 12 and under are free, but don’t get a t-shirt.

Major sponsors of the event are Kinney Drugs Foundation, Pepsi Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers and the Benefit Services Group, Inc. Other sponsors include Renzi Foodservice, Ed-Med Federal Credit Union, The Bicknell Corporation, POMCO Group, Community Bank and SeaComm.

To register call the Society of the United Helpers Development Office at 393-3074, ext. 23
