POTSDAM -- Kevin Marcinko of Potsdam will teach “Ukulele: Take It From the Top!” on Sept. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council. This class is open to ages 10 and up.
A certified music teacher, Marcinko will teach a two -our workshop for absolute beginners to the ukulele. Instruction will start with how to hold and strum, moving on to basic chords, mixing in some basic music theory to make learning songs fun and easy. Everything will be learned by ear, so students don’t need to know how to read music.
Cost is $24, with discounted rates available for SLC Arts members or those in need of financial assistance. Class will meet in room 230, Downtown Snell Hall, 41 Elm St. and students need to bring a ukulele, some paper or a notebook and a pencil.
Pre-registration through SLC Arts is required: 315-265-6860, www.slcartscouncil.org > Calendar.
