RENSSELAER FALLS – Sally Hartman of Ladies First Gallery will hold two workshops exploring artistic uses for porcelain Thursdays in August.
Workshops:
• Artists Trading Porcelain Card (Tiles) – Aug. 5 (making) and 12 (embellishing); Each student in the workshop will receive instructions in making a clay card (tile), learn skills like modeling, molding, incising, stamping, pressing, and as an added opportunity use china markers; session I: 10 a.m.-noon, session II: 1-3 p.m. Fee: $42. Materials included.
• Porcelain Beads, Buttons and Brooches – Aug. 19 (making) and 26 (embellishing) Each student in the workshop will receive instructions in making clay beads and buttons, and learn skills for a variety of bead styles and hole buttons. Session 1: 10 a.m.-noon, session II: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Fee: $42. Materials included.
