EDWARDS -- The Tracer James Trio will bring their rocking blues sound to the halls of the Edwards Opera House Saturday, July 21 at 7 p.m.
The Tracer James Trio, lead by Massena’s Tracer James, performs revved-up blues rock with influences like Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix.
The guitar player, also a member of local band favorite Six Foot Midget, was recently picked by legendary blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa out of 2,600 guitar players to compete as a finalist in the Top 10 Guitar Center’s Blues Masters Contest.
Tickets are $10 at the door and go on sale at 6 p.m. the day of the show. Advance tickets are available by mail. Send check or money order to The Edwards Arts Council, Inc., P.O. Box 241, Edwards 13635.
Due to the closure and construction of the Grass River bridge on CR 24 in the hamlet of Russell, there is a very long detour around this area. Concert-goers traveling from North of Russell are advised to find an alternative route.
Concert promoters suggest taking U.S. Route 11 to Gouverneur and then State Route 58 to Edwards; or Park Street in Canton past the SLU campus, which becomes CR 27, to Degrasse to County Route 17, then to the Edwards-Russell Road, County Route 24, where a left will take you to Edwards.
There are several other suitable routes for those familiar with the roads in this are, said promoters. For those not familiar with these roads, please consult a map or on-line mapping application before you travel.
