MADRID -- The Madrid Dam Summer Music Series presents “That’s Entertainment with Dawna and Bob” on Aug. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. for an evening of Americana music.

The concert takes place the Madrid Community Park, with a rain location of the Madrid Community Building. Admission is free, donations are accepted.

Their singing careers include a three-year tour of Canada where she performed six shows a week. Dawna and Bob are featured on three CD’s produced by platinum recording artist Jimmy Philips.

Dawna is a BMI registered songwriter and wrote/co-wrote many of the selections on these CD’s. She also wrote and recorded a dedication song Sweet Mary McGee. Dawna has composed numerous children’s songs that can be viewed on Teacher Tube.

Jimmy, Dawna and Bob performed many live shows in the band Rhythm of the Night. You may remember Dawna as the director of many past Waddington Homecoming Variety Shows, including Broadway on the River, Waddington Salutes Hee Haw, and Through the Years.

In addition to performing, Dawna also hosted “That’s Entertainment” one of the fifty feature shows on WYBG 1050 radio where she reported on phenomenal entertainers in the North Country.

Bob is a versatile musician and vocalist who has played with numerous local groups. Dawna and Bob enjoy various genres of music including oldies, country, rock, island and seasonal music.

Veterans will be honored during the “Madrid Moment” during intermission.

Looking ahead, “Joshua Barkley and Musical Friends” is on tap for the final concert of the series on Aug. 31.
