OGDENSBURG — The Frederic Remington Art Museum’s "Tai Chi - Taste - Tie Dye" event originally scheduled for Jan. 12 will be held Friday, Jan. 19, from 6-8 p.m. The event will take place at the Dobisky Visitors’ Center, 100 Riverside Avenue, Ogdensburg.
The event starts with Master Sean Boutin from North Country Tai Chi LLC. Tai Chi is a series of movements that are designed calm the mind and heal bodily imbalances. This is an introductory class for beginners, but all levels of experience are welcome.
At 7 p.m., River Myst Winery will give a wine tasting demonstration. Wine will also be sold by the bottle. Light refreshments will be served.
At 7:30 p.m. Jillian Langley will guide participants in some easy-to-do tie dye patterns. All supplies are included. Participants can liven up an old shirt, or get a new Frederic Remington t-shirt when signing up.
The pre-registration fee of $25 includes one white Remington t-shirt, or $20 if participants bring their own shirt to tie dye. The day of the event, the registration fee is $25. The event includes wine tasting, refreshments, an introductory tai chi class, and dyeing supplies. Space is limited so pre-registration is encouraged.
