POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam’s seventh annual Relay for Life is preparing for the April event with a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 in the Student Union's Fireside Lounge.
At this event, people can learn how they can participate and sign up for a team.
These events are held around the country to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and celebrate the lives of cancer survivors and of those who have been lost to the disease.
The 2013 SUNY Potsdam Relay for Life will be held from 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5 until 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, in the Maxcy Hall Fieldhouse. It is open to the community.
This year, more than 700 individuals are expected to participate in the college's relay, with a goal of raising $52,000.
