DEKALB JUNCTION -- Maple sugar bush operators or owners of potential sugar bushes are invited to a field workshop 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27 at the Orebed Sugarshack, Orebed Road, off Rte. 11 across from Hermon-Dekalb Central School.
The workshop will feature in-the-woodlot instruction on key points of sugar bush management with regard to sap tubing use.
Instructors will be Cornell Maple Program Specialist Mike Farrell and state Extension Forester Peter Smallidge.
The emphasis will be on how to manage sugar bushes to yield efficiently with modern tubing systems. To pre-register or for info: 379-9192.
