CANTON -- "Start Your Garden Seedlings Indoors" is the next weekly Hands-On Workshop from the Sustainable Living Project/Local Living Festival from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, led by longtime Birsdfoot Organic Farm coordinator Dulli Tengeler.
Attendees will learn what containers to use for what plants, how to make your own potting soil from compost, how to fill containers, and how to seed different crops, and how to transplant tomatoes, celery and basil.
There is info on timing seeding, planting seedlings out, and different varieties.
Participants will be able to take home a few seedlings of their own as well.
Bring a snack to share; tea and cocoa will be available.
There is a suggested donation of $10 to $20, sliding scale, $5 students.
There will be a second session earlier if there's overflow.
