POTSDAM – The Potsdam Public Library will host its next In the Stacks Music Series event with local electronica improv trio Jerod Stephen Doyle on Sunday, March 25, from 4-5 p.m. in the main reading room.

The trio, formed in 2015, is comprised of Jerod Sommerfeldt (modular synthesizer and computer), who teaches electronic music at the Crane School of Music; Stephen Bird (bass), who teaches environmental science at Clarkson University and studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston; and Doyle Dean (drums), a videographer and instructor of audio and video production at SUNY Potsdam. The trio plays a unique form of improvised instrumental music.

The band has two recordings, "Jerod Stephen Doyle" and part of the 2-CD set from Dean's Utility Project called "Moultin' Larva" recorded this year 2017. Both are available at bandcamp.com.

In the Stacks Music Series is a new program presented by the Potsdam Public Library and Madstop Records at SUNY Potsdam.

These recorded concerts are held in the main reading room of the Potsdam Public Library. We ask that the audience remains quiet during the performance -- applause is encouraged between pieces.

The next In the Stacks show will feature the Frackenpohl Brass Quintet on April 15.
