CANTON -- St. Lawrence University’s Writer Series continues with author Valeria Luiselli at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, in Sykes Common Room. The event is free.
A Mexican-Italian author living in New York City, Luiselli is the author of the essay collection Sidewalks. She is also the acclaimed author of novels Faces in the Crowd, winner of the Los Angeles Times Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction, and The Story of My Teeth, winner of the Los Angeles Times Prize for Best Fiction and the Azul Price in Canada and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Best Translated Book Award.
Her books have been translated into more than 20 languages, and her work has appeared in The New York Times, Granta, McSweeney’s and The New Yorker. In 2014 she was the recipient of the National Book Foundation’s “5 under 35” award.
