RUSSELL -- The St. Lawrence University String Orchestra will perform “A Tribute to James Horner” at the Russell Theatre, 4 Pestle St, at 7:30 on Monday, April 25. The concert is free and open to all.
The String Orchestra will perform the same concert at St. Lawrence University, beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, in the Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall. The orchestra is directed by Christian Hosmer.
James Horner is an accomplished composer who wrote the film score for the best-selling orchestral film soundtrack of all time: Titanic. He composed scores for more than 100 films, including several of the Star Trek films, Krull, Commando, Alien, Willow, Glory, Field of Dreams, and Jumanji.
The orchestra will perform music from Bicentennial Man, Cocoon, Titanic, Apollo 13, Avatar, The Mask of Zorro, An American Tail, Braveheart, and Legends of the Fall.
