LAKE PLACID — Arch rivals St. Lawrence University and Clarkson University are set to meet Saturday night’s, Nov. 24, during the NBT Bank Thanksgiving Faceoff, at 7 p.m..

Saturday’s game will be considered a home contest for Clarkson. They’ll try to carry some of the same success they’ve enjoyed at the Cheel Arena, where they’re a perfect 5-0. They have just one win on the road to date.

Team captain Nico Sturm will lead Clarkson’s (6-4-0, 1-1-0) offense onto the Olympic Center’s international size hockey rink. The junior, from Augsburg, Germany, has scored at least one point in each of the Golden Knights’ first 10 games and has six goals and 14 points.

The Saints (2-9-0, 0-2-0) recorded their most impressive win of the young season last Friday, when they skated past 19th ranked Minnesota, 4-3, in overtime. It was St. Lawrence’s first overtime victory in 979 days. The Golden Gophers did bounce back the next night, picking up a 3-0 victory.

There’s still time to purchase general admission tickets. They are available at local NBT Bank branch officesin Canton, Norfolk, Massena, and Ogdensburg.

Tickets are also available by visiting www.WhitefaceLakePlacid.com, or stopping by the Lake Placid Olympic Center box office, 2634 Main St., Lake Placid.

Prices are $15 for adults and $10 for juniors and seniors. They can also be purchased through the St. Lawrence University box office, (315) 229-5748 and the Clarkson University box office, (315) 268-7750.
