CANTON -- The St. Lawrence Figure Skating Club’s 58th annual ice show, “Goin’ Country,” hits the ice at St. Lawrence University’s Appleton Arena at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19.

Everyone is welcome as skaters, from the young basic skaters to a new adult group, demonstrate their skills and colorful costumes on a country theme, performing to songs like Thank God I’m a Country Boy, Rawhide, Boot Scoot Boogie, The Surrey with the Fringe On Top, Ghost Rider, and others.

Soloists include graduating seniors Edwards-Knox student Nikola Wolfe and Canton Central students Kelley Corbine and Liz Bastien. Also performing solos this year are club members Emily Rexford, Kegan Sovay, Alicia Jones, and Shannon Flanagan. Canton High senior Claire Woodcock is also featured.

Three synchronized skating teams, with members from communities all over the area, will perform. They are The Saint Sensations, the Shooting Stars, and the Ice Angels. Also featured is a new adult group, Mystic Ice.

Also performing will be guest skaters Dylan Lockey and Anne Chloe Bissonnette, ice dancers from Montreal, who competed in the Canadian Nationals in January.

Tickets, $6 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens will be available at the door, and can be purchased in advance by contacting Christina Martin at 379-9528 or cmartin42001@yahoo.com.
