The St. Lawrence County Trappers Association will again be sponsoring teenagers attending New York State Department of Environmental Conservation camps next summer.
The weeklong camps are for youngsters 12 to 17 years old. Three camps are for 12- to 14-year-olds, in Franklin, Sullivan and Allegany counties. One camp, in Warrensburg, conducts a Pack Forest Program of environmental study designed for 15- to 17-year-olds.
DEC campers have time to pursue and improve skills in a wide variety of outdoor sporting interests including fishing, bird watching, orienteering, fly-tying, canoeing, camper, and hunter safety.
The deadline for applications to the Trappers is Jan. 7. Those who are interested in being sponsored for camp by the Trappers should explain why in a letter sent to SLCTA, P.O. Box 148, Canton, NY, 13617, by the deadline, and should also call Ethan Reynolds at 212-0283 by Jan. 7.
