BRASHER FALLS -- The Arthritis Foundation and the St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging will offer a free arthritis program for senior citizens.

The educational program will be presented in three weekly sessions. Classes will be held in the community room at LBSH Senior Housing, 32 Church St., Feb. 15, Feb. 22 and Mar. 1 from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The program is designed to give the information needed to help manage arthritis symptoms. Topics will include communication, exercise, diet, dealing with pain, as well as the psychological aspects of having a chronic condition like arthritis.

Each session will be approximately one and a half hours and is taught by Arthritis Foundation volunteer Ada Santaferra.

Santaferra has a Bachelor of Science degree in community health and a master’s degree in education. She is a clinical faculty member of the Department of Community Health at SUNY Potsdam and volunteers at Reachout and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

To register contact Chris Fobare at St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging at 386-4730.
