CANTON -- The Canton Recreation Department’s new initiative, “Youth for a Fit Future,” is wrapping up with “Spring into Fitness” for Canton high school students at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3 in the Williams High School gym.
The Fit Future Committee, four college student mentors from St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton and three high school students from Canton, has been meeting since January to discuss public health, fitness promotion, and physical activity, focusing on the Canton community. The committee designed the program for their peers with a goal of increasing opportunities for Canton teens to participate in physical activity.
The event is free and open to all Canton high school students.
