POTSDAM - An exhibit of selected works by Suzanne Langelier-Lebeda opens Friday, May 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Arts Gallery, 18 Elm St. This solo exhibit features design and illustration by Lebeda of South Colton.
Lebeda was director/designer of publications at SUNY Potsdam, and won national awards for graphic design and illustration. She is an award-winning fine artist.
"I use natural tools: graphite, carbon and wood—pencils on paper. Graphite, the shades of gray, from hard light to soft dark; the muted palette of tinted graphite and the black, bold lines of carbon best define the energy of the image,” Lebeda said. “What I enjoy most is the thought-to-hand-to-paper connection using a natural medium."
Lebeda's art will be on display through June 17. The exhibit and opening are free and open to the public, and wheelchair accessible. The Gallery is open during Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
