POTSDAM – The Potsdam Recreation Department released their 2014-15 ice skating schedule for the Pine Street Arena. The arena will open Saturday, Oct. 11.

Public skating sessions will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1:45 to 3:45 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. through Nov. 10 and Monday through Friday from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. after Nov. 10. Public skating will also be offered Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Open hockey is planned for Monday through Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m. and Sundays from 8:15 to 9:45 p.m. There will also be open hockey during holidays from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

This year there will be public skating times for parents and tots on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 to 11 a.m. and a senior skate on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. The senior and parent-tot skating sessions will not be held during vacations and holidays.

The recreation department is offering skate rentals that were made available through a grant received from the St. Lawrence County Health Initiative’s Creating Healthy Places project.

Skates are available for $3 per pair per session.

To rent the ice for groups or teams, call the office at 265-4030 for available times. There are also ice slots available for private birthday parties with use of the upstairs meeting room for the party.
