CANTON -- Shechem Press will hold a party to celebrate the release of a new series of broadsides Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Parkview, above The Blackbird Café.
The party will include poetry readings and a history of the broadside along with a cash bar. Broadside prints and other books will be available for purchase.
The “2012 Artist Broadside Series” was officially released Dec. 15. Each limited edition broadside is a 10” square giclée printed on off-white German mould-made paper.
Poets Joshua Mehigan and Saara Raappana collaborated with Canton artist Rebekah Wilkins-Pepiton to create the broadsides. “The Optimist,” “The Dream Job,” and “Advice for Icarus from Celebrated Funambulist The Great Farini” are each paired with original wood-cut prints from Wilkins-Pepiton.
Earlier this year Shechem Press also released the book length poem “Notes on Paper” by Damon Falke. For more information visit www.shechempress.com.
