Remington Art Museum's fundraiser party Harvest Moon set for Sept. 29

OGDENSBURG -- If you are looking forward to Frederic Remington Art Museum's big fundraiser party, Harvest Moon, save the date Saturday, Sept. 29, from 7-11 p.m.

This year, the Harvest Moon Committee chose an artwork by Rhealyn Jones, a fourth grade student at Hermon-Dekalb Central School, as the signature image for promotion of this year's Harvest Moon event.

The mixed media artwork is untitled and was submitted by her art teacher Sarah Platt for the 35th Annual Elementary Art Exhibit. The Elementary Art Exhibit is on display in the Richard E. Winter Gallery at the Frederic Remington Art Museum through May 13, 2018.

The young artist attended the exhibit reception on Saturday, March 3, where she had her photo taken with her art.

The Harvest Moon event includes a cash bar, live music, hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction. Cost to attend the Harvest Moon is $40 member/$45 non-member. Sign up early to receive $5 off.

The next Harvest Moon Committee meeting is May 8 at 5:15 p.m. in Building 311 next door to the museum. Members of the community are invited to attend. The committee meets once a month or as needed. Members of the public are invited to join.

The funds raised from Harvest Moon and its silent auction will support the museum’s work of preserving, exhibiting and interpreting the art and archives of Frederic Remington, and to providing educational tours, hands-on art experiences, and other great experiences for children and their families at Kid’s Place, the museum's education center.

The Frederic Remington Art Museum is located at 303 Washington St.
