POTSDAM -- The American Red Cross of Northern New York and the Potsdam Central Girls Swim team are putting together aquatics safety courses for children and adults, to be offered in Potsdam April 30.
The Home Pool/Basic Water Safety Course, for adults, and the Whale Tales aquatic safety course, for children 5 to 12 years old, will both be taught from 9 to 11 a.m. in the library at A.A. Kingston Middle School on Lawrence Avenue.
The goals of the program are to help educate children and adults about the dangers associated with water and water based activities, how to best minimize the dangers around water, and to teach the children basic water safety rules in an easy-to-remember manner.
Pre-registration is required. The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child. To register or for more information contact the American Red Cross of Northern New York at 268-0102 or email slc@redcrossnny.com.
