POTSDAM -- The SUNY Potsdam Athletic Department will be selling raffle tickets during both men's hockey games this weekend. All the proceeds will go to support assistant athletic trainer Alex Berking and her family as she continues to battle brain cancer.
The tickets give participants a chance to win baskets of prizes created by the athletic teams with materials donated by the athletes, athletic staff and President's Office. The baskets will each have a theme including movie night, spa day, lottery, coffee, golf and others. There will also be tickets sold to raffle off Bears Gear including a back pack, winter coat, sweatshirt and t-shirts.
The winning tickets will be pulled on Monday night, Feb. 12, at the Timber Tavern in Parishville. That night the tavern will host a $15 per person dinner with live music from 5 to 9 p.m. with the proceeds going to Alex.
Just a point out of a playoff spot heading into the weekend, the Bears men will host SUNY Fredonia at 7 p.m. on Friday and No. 13 Buffalo State at 7 p.m. Saturday.
