CANTON – Mardee Cooke, retired Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County educator, will be conducting quilt classes in the classroom at the Extension Learning Farm Complex.
The first quilt that Mardee will teach is titled Cabin in the Mountains. In this project quilters will learn several quilt-making basics while making four blocks. The class is offered Thursday Oct. 21 or Saturday, Oct. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the farm. The cost is $17.
Next Mardee will instruct the class Trip Around the World. This quilt is one of the most traditional of all quilt patterns. In two workshops quilters should come close to completing the top. This class is being offered Thursdays, Nov. 4 & 18 or Saturdays, Nov. 6 & 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The fee for this two-session class is $25.
To register for one or both of these classes, contact the extension office at 379-9192, ext. 234. Pre registration is required.
