Potsdam library hosting upcoming tech programs

POTSDAM – The Cleveland Computer Center at the Potsdam Public Library, 2 Park St., as several tech programs scheduled in the coming weeks.

All the programs are held in the library basement and registration is required by contacting bgordon@potsdamlibrary.org, or 315-265-7230.

“Spring Cleaning your Computer” will be held Monday, March 5, from 4:30-6 p.m. Participants will learn to give their machine a tune up, speed it up and keep it running almost like new.

“Intermediate Excel,” will be held Monday, March 5,

“Internet Safety/Secure Web Browsing” is slated for Wednesday, March 7, from 5-6:30 p.m. Students will learn about free programs which keep a computer safe during online browsing and general tips to keep their personal information secure.

“Universal Class” will be offered Friday, March 9, from 9:30-11 a.m. Attendees will learn about universal classes which are free and found on the library’s website. Over 500 topics including accounting, office skills, history, web development and more are available. Students will learn to register for and participate in an online class.

“Introduction to Computers” will be held Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m.-noon. Students will elarn the basics of computers, including how to create files and folders, save them and copy from one document to another. The class will be taught using Windows 10 and MS Office 2010.

“Spotify” will be offered Monday, March 12, from 3-4:30 p.m. Spotify is a free online music database that you can use to listen to any type of music instantly. Learn to set up an account, search for music, understand and create customized playlists, and access other features. Students will need to be comfortable with internet and computer or smartphone.
